Regardless of how the liberals may feel about it, Amy Coney Barrett is going to be the next Supreme Court Justice. Mitch McConnell already has all of the votes that he needs. It’s just a matter of time at this point. She’s going to have a Senate vote before election day rolls around. With all that being said, it’s going to be a very bumpy road for her regardless of what you have heard.
This road began even before the announcement was first made. The Democrats are going to launch quite the attack before they allow Barrett to be confirmed. In fact, there are even folks who are willing to question her parenthood. She has adopted two children from Haiti and a Democrat activist posted an entire thread about the matter.
They are not even hiding their contempt for Barrett at this point. In fact, the thread even claims that the children were stolen away from Haiti by the religious conservatives. Josh Hawley was not going to tolerate this and he was sure to point out the silliness of Dana Houle’s thread. The Senator’s response was much needed.
“Read this from Democrat activist & Hill staffer. Questioning whether #AmyConeyBarrett *illegally* adopted her children from Haiti, maybe snatching them from birth parents! This is the Dem gameplan. Nothing but raw bigotry and hate. I promise you, this will not stand,” he tweeted. The thread is every bit as disgusting as you would expect.
Once Hawley called attention to the thread, Houle locked her account. It’s funny how that works. She had so much to say about Barrett before she was challenged on it. The cowardly attacks on her family have no place in this sort of discussion. The Democrats cannot provide a real reason to block Barrett’s confirmation. They simply want to make sure that they are being as difficult as possible.
That’s how children act when they do not get their own way and the Democrats are no different. Barrett spoke glowingly of her seven children during a 2017 7th Circuit Court of Appeals confirmation hearing. Anyone who has actually heard her speak about her children knows how terrible this thread is. Attack the woman if you must but leave the children out of it.
“Emma is 16. The first apple of our eye,” said Amy during the hearing. “Vivian, directly next to Emma, is 13. Vivian is our miracle. Vivian joined our family—she was born in Haiti and she came home when she was 14 months old, and she weighed 11 pounds and she was so weak we were told she might never walk normally or speak. Today Vivian is a track star, and I assure you she has no trouble talking. Tess, sitting next to Vivian, is also 13 years old. Both in 8th grade. She’s one of the most compassionate and determined people that I know.”
“John Peter is 10, and like Vivian, he was born in Haiti. He joined our family in 2010 when he was 3 years old after the devastating earthquake in Haiti,” Amy continued.
“Liam is 8. Typically curious 8-year-old. And Juliet is our spunky 6-year-old. Benjamin, our youngest, is 5. and Benjamin has special needs, and that presents unique challenges for all of us. But I think all you need to know about Benjamin’s place in the family is summed up by the fact the other children unreservedly identify him as their favorite sibling.”
These were her own words, three years ago. These children are now old enough to read the ugliness that is being posted about them online. As we all know, the Democrats are just getting started now. They won’t stop the attacks any time soon.
A family with a special needs child should not have to deal with this kind of stress but here we are. The pettiness that is being put on full display here is disgusting. We eagerly await all of their outlandish proclamations. No one will have health care anymore! We’re all going to die! Blah blah blah, we have heard it all before.
