The San Francisco Board of Supervisors recently designated the city as a “Sanctuary City for Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming, Non-Binary, and Two-Spirit People.” This resolution encompasses both the city and county of San Francisco and is a direct response to legislation in conservative states that restricts access to transgender surgeries and medications, particularly for minors.

Amidst this development, there are increasing concerns from global medical authorities regarding the potential adverse effects of transgender surgeries and medications on minors.

Governor Gavin Newsom (D) of California, known for his stance against parental notification of children’s gender transitions in schools, was unable to defend this policy when questioned by Breitbart News during a press appearance at a Republican debate last year.
