Trump Taps KC Crosbie for RNC Co-Chair: A New Era or Just More Déjà Vu?
Well, folks, here we are again—another day, another Trump family shuffle. This time, President-elect Donald Trump has decided that his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, has done such a ‘fantastic’ job as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) that it’s time for her to step aside. Enter KC Crosbie, the RNC’s treasurer and Kentucky’s national committeewoman, who Trump has endorsed to fill the soon-to-be-vacant seat.
Now, let’s talk about KC Crosbie. According to Trump, she’s an ‘America First Patriot’ who’s been with him from the very beginning, helping ‘REAL Republicans’ get elected across the country. As treasurer, she’s apparently smashed every fundraising record in history and fortified the party’s financial foundation. Impressive, right? But isn’t it curious how these ‘records’ always seem to get broken whenever it’s convenient?
Meanwhile, Lara Trump, the outgoing co-chair, has announced her resignation and is eyeing a potential Senate run in Florida. She’s considering replacing Senator Marco Rubio, who Trump has tapped to be the next Secretary of State. If Rubio is confirmed, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would appoint his replacement until a 2026 election. Lara says, ‘It is something I would seriously consider.’
But wait, there’s more. In the same breath, Trump has also announced a couple of administration picks. Mark Paoletta is set to serve as general counsel of the Office of Management and Budget, a role he held during Trump’s first term. And Harmeet Dhillon, a religious-liberty lawyer and 2020 Trump campaign legal adviser, is slated to be the assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice. Trump assures us that Dhillon will enforce our civil rights and election laws ‘FAIRLY and FIRMLY.’ Because, you know, fairness has always been the hallmark of this administration.
So, what does this all mean? Is the RNC about to become a lean, mean, MAGA machine under Crosbie’s leadership? Or is this just another episode of ‘The Apprentice: Political Edition,’ where loyalty trumps—pun intended—competence? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: in Trump World, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
